The car was built by Bob Urquhart of San Diego, CA, and the Prowler's Car Club from 1959 to 1961. It was first titled in CA in 1961. It appeared on the cover of Hot Rod in Oct 1962 and was featured in Popular Hot Rodding in early 1963. The steel 1927 body is channeled 4 inches over A rails and has a 12 inch kickup in the rear. It had a '57 Corvette 4.11 rear. It originally had a Cadillac 3-speed behind a Cragar adapter, but now runs a 2-speed hydromatic. The 276 DeSoto Hemi has a Howard cam and Weiand intake with four Stromberg 97s. James believes the headers are custom made and run into side pipes.
