Mr. Norm's Introduces Hurst Heritage GSS Ram 1500
Package Available for All 2009-2016 Ram 1500s
If you consider yourself any kind of Mopar enthusiast, chances are you've heard of Mr. Norm's. The company produces all sorts of special editions and special appearance packages for late-model Dodge and Ram models, most with a retro or nostalgic theme. Among one of the company's best-known packages was the Red Xpress package, which added exhaust stacks to the bed of the Ram 1500, channeling the spirit of the original Dodge Lil. Red Express truck from the late '70s. For its latest Ram package, Mr. Norm's teams up with musclecar-era tuner Hurst for the Hurst Heritage GSS Ram 1500 model. Inspired by the 1968 Dodge Dart GSS 440 M-Code, the Hurst Heritage Ram includes a truckload (no pun intended) of upgrades to give it some street-smart attitude. The package is based on a Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi and eight-speed transmission.
The exterior features Hurst Heritage custom-painted gold stripes, a matching Snugtop tonneau cover, Bushwacker fender flares, Ram R/T "Challenger-style" hood, hood pins, roof spoiler, Hurst badging, and a fuel-door applique. The interior features a Katzkin black and pearl leather interior with Hurst embroidery, Hurst logo floormats, and SRT-style stainless pedal pads. Aside all the eye-candy, the truck also gets Hurst 22-inch "Stunner" wheels, Nitto 305/40ZR-22 tires, Ground Force lowering springs and shocks, a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust with 5-inch tips, and a K&N intake system.
Of course, all those goodies don't come for free, and the all-in package price for the Hurst Heritage GSS is $15,995. That's a steep tab, but for this unique-looking package, it's not altogether outrageous. Plus, if you buy smart on a Tradesman 1500 with plenty of incentives, you could still be out the door for less than $45k, which isn't too bad in this day of $60,000-plus 1/2-tons.
