331? 354? etc????

Post by photon »

New to the site. I have an older hemi motor that came out of a late 50's dodge grain truck with only 28000 miles. My intentions were to give the thing to my dad to place in a 47 dodge truck. He wants to stick with the original motor. So I have no use for the motor and would like to sell it. I need help decoding it and finding out its value. The motor is complete, including the transmission. I can hand turn the crank with ease. I believe it to be original survivor. The numbers I fourd are as follows:
VTX342-i880 (BEHIND THE WATER PUMP)
09 (LT FRONT SIDE OF THE BLOCK)
0 30
7 (LT REAR SIDE OF BLOCK UPSIDED DOWN)
1409375-4. M4-3, S81, DD CID ????? ON THE INTAKE.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Thanks for all of the info. My next question would be a fare asking price for the motor? I would like to sell the thing locally. I can post some photos if helpfull.
