The Fast & Furious franchise has consistently spawned some genuinely tantalizing hero cars. The series' latest installment is no different, with F9 featuring perhaps one of the most outrageous muscle cars of the F&F universe. Yes, Dom Toretto once again finds himself behind the wheel of a 1968 Dodge Charger, but this time, it's a mid-engine machine. Now, performance builder SpeedKore has built a fully functional mid-engine Charger that exactly replicates the car you'll see in F9, right down to the supercharged Hellcat engine behind the seats.

Known as Hellacious, this extreme build is the latest mad Mopar to come out of SpeedKore's shop in Grafton, Wisconsin. Built as a road-legal recreation of the F9 hero car, this Dodge Charger has a completely bespoke chassis, necessary to allow the SpeedKore team to stick that big engine behind the seats. The powerplant is none other than a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8, which retains its factory output of 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual Graziano transaxle sourced from a Lamborghini Gallardo. A gated shifter in the interior hints towards this Italian connection.

To handle all that power, Hellacious features a double A-arm front suspension from Detroit Speed, with a double-wishbone setup from Race Car Replicas out back. QA1 supplied the track-oriented shocks. In order to reel in over 700 hp of shove, SpeedKore installed a set of Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes. In keeping with the Fast & Furious theme, the Challenger has a hydraulic hand brake for big slides. Custom HRE "Hellacious" wheels, measuring 18x10.5-inches up front and 18x12.5-inches out back, give a properly menacing stance.

As with their previous Dodge Charger builds, SpeedKore has gone all-in with full carbon fiber bodywork on this F9 tribute. The widened, reshaped body was penned by Sean Smith Designs, and perfectly translates the Charger silhouette to the new mid-engine proportions.

The SpeedKore Hellacious Charger might be the standout muscle car in F9, but it's not there alone. SpeedKore's 1970 Dodge Charger “Tantrum” also appears in the movie, having made its first appearance in 2015's Furious 7. Whether you're a Furious fan or not, it's impossible to ignore the wild cars this series has inspired.
