Found another intresting block....

Post by johnny5 »

I just picked up a 354 block stamped "M354" on top. It's a 354 casting with holes drilled to mount eaither early or post 1954 oil pan and it doesn't have the extra water holes on the front of the block. It's drilled for the early front cover though.

I bought the short block on eBay in item # 120129049803 . It is stamped L8D7 and is a 354 that has the early front cover bolt pattern with the single top bolt like the one you have. The side of the block has the large W cast into it.. I think it is a poly block but the seller bought it with hemi heads on it. It only has the top water passages and not the lower ones. It also has 5 sleeves and is bored .060. It was sold to me as being standard bore. I am going to resleeve all eight holes to std 354 or maybe 331 if I can find a good set of pistons. I have even considered sleeves to std. 392 so I could put a stroker crank in it.. Anyone ever resleeved a previously sleeved block? Buddy
