Chrysler marine engine mysterium?

Post by Lars B »

Im helping a friend assembling/fix up a Fifties Chrysler Hemi marine engine.
And when i was looking at the block i saw the word "Sample" cast into the side.
can anyone tell me what it means??
And if it was used for anything specific.

What's the date code? Maybe it's a very early casting.
