This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 roadster was acquired by the current owner on BaT in April 2019 and subsequently offered in October 2020. Modifications performed during previous ownership include a repaint in Viper Red and installation of a 392ci Chrysler Hemi V8, a four-speed manual transmission, a Chevrolet 12-bolt rear-end, and custom fiberglass bodywork. Additional equipment includes staggered American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, dual carburetors, a Howe aluminum radiator, an electric fuel pump, and a roll hoop. This Austin-Healey is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean New Jersey title.

The car was refinished in Viper Red during previous ownership and features a fiberglass front clamshell with an intake scoop, custom fender flares, and a two-position windscreen. Additional touches include mesh headlight screens, polished aluminum trim around the open cockpit, rear bumperettes, and dual exhaust outlets.

15″ and 16″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are wrapped in 205/60 Negotiator front and 295/50 BFGoodrich T/A rear tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes, rear drums, and a dual-circuit master cylinder.

The cockpit features tan leather fixed-back seats along with matching carpets and door panels. Features include harnesses, a driver-side roll hoop, a body-color dashboard, and a trunk-access passthrough in the rear bulkhead.

The wood-rimmed Grant steering wheel is mounted on a quick-release hub. Stewart Warner instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, approximately 40 of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.

The 392ci Hemi V8 was installed during previous ownership and features dual Carter four-barrel carburetors on an aluminum manifold. Additional equipment includes an oil cooler, Howe aluminum radiator, electric fan, aluminum fuel cell, electric fuel pump, and a dual exhaust system with glass pack mufflers. The oil and filter were changed in January 2021.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Chevrolet 12-bolt rear axle.

I think the first time I've seen this combo. This has to be super fun to drive!
