A muscle SUV for muscle car people with families, the Dodge Durango joins the Challenger and Charger in SRT Hellcat form as the most powerful SUV ever.

Powered by the proven supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine delivering 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque, the Durango SRT Hellcat runs 0-60 miles per hour (mph) in 3.5 seconds, has a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) –certified quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.5, a top speed of 180 mph and runs 1.5 seconds faster than the SRT 392 on a 2.1-mile road course, equal to 9 car lengths after one lap.
Designed and engineered to push the boundaries of what an SUV can be, the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is powered by the proven supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine, which delivers a best-in-class 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a standard TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission.

The performance improvements begin with the new front fascia design, a new chin splitter, updated engine oil cooler duct, air guide and snorkel for cold air induction. A new, unique rear spoiler creates an improved aerodynamic balance with the new front-end design, resulting in a massive increase in rear downforce of more than 400 percent (140 lbs. @ 180 mph).

SRT engineers upgraded the Durango SRT Hellcat to improve handling, including several race-inspired technologies and Brembo brakes, resulting in performance numbers never before seen on a Durango.

Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Production Extended
https://www.motor1.com/news/500487/dodg ... extension/
A few more are on the way.

Dodge initially planned to build the Durango SRT Hellcat for just six months, and the company already sold out of all 2,000 units, except for a few dealer-allocated units. Now, the automaker has apparently changed its mind and decided to produce at least a few more for the folks who missed out.

"Any time you launch a limited-production vehicle and plan to build fewer units than the number of Dodge dealers across the country, you risk leaving a lot of customers very unhappy," Bob Broderdorf, Director of Dodge Operations North America, told Dodge Garage. "As we finalized the production plan for this amazing SUV, we found a way to move some 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat V8 engines from other vehicles to ensure every ‘sold order’ in our systems will get built. We didn’t want to disappoint these customers and wanted to find a way to ensure they are part of the Brotherhood of Muscle."

Motor1.com has reached out to Dodge for further confirmation.

It's not clear how many additional units of the Durango SRT Hellcat that Dodge intends to make. Although, Broderdorf's statement of getting "some" extra units of the supercharged V8 indicates that the number probably isn't very high. Production of these vehicles begins in June, according to Dodge Garage.

The Durango SRT Hellcat packs a version of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 making 710 horsepower (529 kilowatts) and 645 pound-feet (875 newton-meters). An eight-speed automatic routes the power to both axles. Dodge reports the SUV can hit 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph (290 kph). Plus, the SUV can tow up to 8,700 pounds (3,946 kilograms). Brembo brakes help slow down the machine.

The Durango SRT Hellcat retails for $80,995 (plus a $1,495 destination fee). Although, getting all of the options can take the price to $99,715.
Very nice! Glad to see they're going to fulfill as many orders as possible!
I don't think Dodge can go wrong stuffing the Hellcat HEMI into anything.
