Dodge Built a One-Off 797-HP Hellcat Redeye-Powered Durango
Nicknamed "Speed Trap," this Durango SRT Pursuit is packing some serious heat.

If you're disappointed Dodge has yet to drop its Hellcat Redeye engine in anything other than the Challenger, this SUV might be a ray of hope. It's a one-off Durango SRT equipped with the 797-horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 found under the hood of the Challenger Redeye, built to compete in this year's One Lap of America.

Nicknamed "Speed Trap," the engine isn't the only thing that's new. It has a bespoke law enforcement-inspired livery, a light-and-siren package, lowering springs, a high-flow exhaust system, and 20-inch wheels wrapped in 305 section-width Pirelli P-Zero tires. Hiding behind those wheels are Brembo brakes with 15.75-inch rotors and six piston calipers up front, and 13.78-inch rotors and four-piston calipers out back. Power is still sent to all four wheels via the factory eight-speed automatic.

The car will be fielded in the 2019 One Lap of America from May 4th to the 11th by SRT vehicle dynamics engineer David Carr and journalist David Hakim. Over the course of 4000 miles and eight tracks, their goal is to defend the Durango SRT's truck/SUV class title, which it won last year unmodified. With an engine like that under the hood, we're betting it won't be too hard.
Now that's what I'm talking about! 8)
