I have a question regarding the 241 Dodge push rods HOTHEADS part number #21087S1/4 push rod with 3/8" tube diameter size I have purchased, I am using standard lifters & rocker arms........ the original push rods are 5/16” with 1/4" ends to suit the standard lifter & rocker arms and these adjustable HOTHEADS push rods are 3/8” with 1/4" ends, are the HOTHEADS push rods with 3/8" tube diameter size going to clear the standard push rod holes in the heads & block okay?

Probably the only way to know for sure is to do a mockup assembly and check them.

Von: The 3/8" pushrods clear. The only times you may conflict is if your rockers are worn against the stands. If that's true, you needed to shim them back anyway. The other condition is large i.e. roller cams. For big cams, the 3/8" pushrod is standard and we drill the pushrod holes to 1/2". The 3/8"o.d. x .042" wall 4130 chromoly pushrod is designed to eliminate the flex associated with long pushrods and high lift cams. Have fun, Bob Walker

Thanks for the info Bob, I have installed the adjustable push rods & setting the lifter preload, started off at zero lash & then going one full turn on the adjuster, seems chattery on cold start up so I am going to redo the adjustment to 1 1/2 turns and monitor things from there, also noted the webrodder build on doc's 241 he suggests 1 1/2 turns gets you the right lifter preload using smith brothers push rods, I guess the Hot Heads ones are the same?
