camshaft snout machining

i have to machine the front snout, take thread off, a 315 cam to suit late double row timing gear, can any one tell me what needs to be done here,ive done this before but cant remember what i did 5 years ago :roll:

Cut the snout portion off to the correct length, machine a collar to bring the snout back to the right diameter and cut a keyway. It is simple if you have a new style Mopar cam to copy. Good luck.
Remember, a high deck cam will not work properly in a low deck engine, regardless of being reground.

As Peter was mentioning, if you have a Dodge cam with a threaded front snout, it is NOT for a 315 or 325 tall deck.
