pilot bearing

Post by Gullwing »

I am planning to put a manual shift transmission behind my Desoto hemi. I noticed the crank was not machined for a pilot bearing. Since I have the crank out being machined should I have it machined to install a pilot bearing or is there some other way arround this.?

Gullwing:
If you're going to use a Hot Heads bellhousing adapter and flywheel, the pilot beading will be built into the flywheel and no machining is required, If you're using a 50's or '60 adapter, the crank will probably need to be drilled. A mock up will be required to find out for sure.
Have fun!
