Water Test??

I have a mid year 68 426 hemi block (at least according to the casting date) in my Charger. The RB boss at the top front of the block has a large (about 3/16) WT stamped on it, nothing else. I have 2 questions
1) Would this be a 68 warrantee block that has been water tested?
2) What exactly is a water test? (If in fact that is what the WT means)
