Dual Quads for my 1958 392 HEMI

Post by 392 PT50 »

Hi,

Last year l bought a 392 HEMI from a guy and I'm putting it in my 37 Plymouth PT50. I'm buying most of my parts from Eric at Hot Heads and I'm torn on what to do about intake and carburetor(s). I bought an Edelbrock 750 and the aluminum high-rise intake from Eric but l also have a brand new Weiand dual quad intake that came with the motor. I like the nostalgic look of the dual quads but l know the single four barrel would probably preform as well if not better than dual quads. I upgraded to the aluminum 331 copy heads, waterpump conversion, aluminum flywheel, 500 lift hydraulic cam, 10 to 1 pistons, long tube headers and MSD ignition and distributor. My question is this: if l were to experiment with the dual quad setup, what modern carbs would be suited for my application. When it's done I'm hoping for 425-450 HP.
Thanks!

I am running 500CFM Edelbrock Performer carbs.
Started with 650, then tried 600, tried the 500s, and runs as slick as snot on a door knob. No cranking, no running problems
