to do a correct engine restoration, what color was the engine in the 1953 newyorker? Eastwod has orange or blue, does anyone else offer a good, correct paint?

From what I've seen, the color scheme is silver with black details. Something like this:

I think Eastwood also sells the "Chrysler Silver" color for restorers. I'll do a quick search and see if I can find it for you...

It seems Eastwood does not carry it. Here is what I found in a few moments on Google:

Mopar is supposed to have the paint too. It's called "Fire Power Silver." How cool is that! Part Number: P4529148

Very cool! And a can of silver paint is way, way
cheaper than an aluminum block, heads and
intake too!!! :D <LOL>

You probably need photos to see if they were dropped in still silver or if they might have been repainted some other color to be sure of corectness.
