What exactly do you have to do to a small block damper to use it in a CHrysler hemi?
Be sure the balancer you decide to use is from an internally balanced motor. The late 340 and 360 are externally balanced, and the balancers are visually different.
I believe that some of the earliest balancers had the correct width keyway. Most you find do not, and you will either have to have the keyway broached, or use a stepped key ( which you can make, or purchased from a board member here )
Once you install it, be sure to check TDC by the piston, and mark the new balancer accordingly so that you have a correct 0 degree timing mark.

You have to broach a larger key way in the correct location so the timing mark comes up at t.d.c. The old groove is only about1/2 as wide as it needed to be and in the wrong place.. I am getting it broached a 1/4" wide so the mark is close to the correct T.D.C. We will see. LOL
