Viper-Powered Jeep J10! ... -jeep-j10/
J10? With this many cylinders, you could call it a V10.

All hands were excited when Jeep finally showed the 2020 Gladiator pickup in Los Angeles. Fans of the brand will know it isn’t Jeep’s first truck, though. Far from it, in fact.

The original Gladiator was built from calendar years 1962 to 1971, then followed by the J-Series rigs of the ’70s and ’80s. This is not to mention the Scrambler and Comanche pickups. While they were all cooler than the other side of the pillow, its safe to say none of them ever had the gravitas of this machine built by Vegas shop Nefarious Kustoms.

The gonzo SRT10-powered J10 Prerunner shown here is our kind of crazy. Three years in the making, this awesome ride is hitting the off-road in fine form.

Under the hood? A ten-cylinder monster ripped from the heart of a Dodge Viper backed by a 48RE automatic. Sounds good to us. Laying claim to this beast is Vegas-based Hodson Motorsports.

Opening those doors reveal a cabin that’ll look familiar to anyone who was lucky enough to pilot a Ram SRT10 back in the day. Its gauges and switches are pure Ram (check out that Viper logo on the wheel!), along with the embossed seats that seem to have side bolsters for days.

Describing the build late in 2017, Nefarious Kustoms said on their IG feed that “you can see how I hid the Radflo 2.5 coilovers and triple bypasses inside the bedsides.” Slick.

“The rear of the frame underneath the bed is all tubing to give enough up travel room for the triangulated 4 link.” It’s clear this is no hack job and a great deal of time and effort has gone into making sure the build is just right.

Rolling on 37-inch Nittos mounted on 20-inch XD wheels, this ’83 J10 also has Dana 80 axles installed underneath. All this kit should survive the apocalypse quite nicely.

Be sure to check out the rest of their builds, which range from beefy F-150s set for the desert through to a fantastic FJ that looks as if it could eat up Baja’s worst without a second thought.
Man, this is my kind of truck! I really enjoy these kinds of builds.
