'Mega-Squirting' a late-model Hemi???

I've read a lot recently about the problems and mostly the cost of the various factory and aftermarket computers and wiring harness needed for adapting the late-model Hemi to older cars. As kind of a long-term 'dream project', I'm looking into the possiblity of swapping a 5.7 or 6.1 into an '79 Mecedes 240D chassis. I still don't know if the swap is even feasable but if I eventually do it, I definitely want/need to use EFI, rather than one of the carb conversions that are available for these engines. I'm wondering if one of the 'DIY' Mega-Squirt controllers would be a viable, and economical alternative to the available factory and aftermarket controllers? Has anyone here successfuly used a Mega-Squirt on a late-model Hemi? I have a bit of experience with the Mega-Squirt as I built one - (and also helped engineer and build the rest of the homebrew EFI system too) for a buddy's 2.3L turbo Pinto engine project a few years ago, and it ended up working really well (441 rwhp & 490 ft./lbs
of torque at 5500 rpm and 24 lbs. of boost!). I'm thinking that not using a
turbo and using most or all of the existing factory EFI system, that
compared to the Pinto project at least, adapting the Mega-Squirt
contoller would be a relative breeze and a whole lot cheaper that the commercillay avallable contollers and harnesses out there. What do
people think? I'd particularly like to hear from anyone who's actually
used a Mega-Squirt on a late-model Hemi. Inquiring minds here *need*
to know the details! :)

Mart, I haven't had much luck in getting any response to tech questions on the Gen. III Hemis here. There doesn't seem to be much activity by people who are working with them here.

I know, I wish I know how to bring in more of new HEMI users!
So many forums out there for late model Mopar vehicles, though.

This website will be the last one standing down the road... 8)

Do you use the factory sensors with it? Also, Chryler or
aftermarket injectors?
