Electric Fuel Pump

Post by 86 5.7 »

Can anyone recommend a quiet, external (inline) fuel pump to feed my `03 5.7? I think it has to put out 47 psi continuously. I`m currently using a 40 psi pump and when I floor it, it shudders. Thanks

I put the MSD 2225 in to get it running. The pump is really loud-maybe it`s defective- but it was inexpensive at the time. 40psi at 43gph. I am open for suggestions. I`m looking at the Mallory 110FI unless someone can recommend something better. Thanks

Yes, I have a return line off of a regulator.

Look into a Walbro 225. With your 5.7 injectors, kick it up to 58-60 psi.

Fuel Pump suggestion

Post by mauicuda »

I am using Walbro CSL392 (same as Holley 12-920) in my '68 Barracuda with 5.7L Crate motor. Crate motor requires 56-58 psi, somewhat higher than truck motor. I tried the Mallory -110 (or something like that); it was noisy, big, and short-lived!
Pump is near tank, regulator is in engine compartment. I'm using a fuel-pump relay near the trunk-mounted battery to insure adequate voltage to the pump. Hope this info is useful.
