5.7 & 6.1 Hemi 4" crank

Post by SRT10KLLR »

Is anyone here interested in a 4" crank for there 5.7 or 6.1 Hemi? I have a couple blocks that I bought to have built but in order to turn them into 392, 413 or 426 Hemi's I need a 4" crank. There is a company wiling to make them but I need to purchase 20+ to make it happen so I am hopping others need some also. Let me know if you are interested by emailing me at jxv254@yahoo.com

That would be $1700 for a forged crank. Billet cranks can also be made but they are like $2700.

unfortuantly i am no where near ready to start buying parts for a motor. I am thinking of building my own motor. So far I am considering a 5.7 block because the cost is so much cheaper. If I was to use a 4" crank in 5.7 would that make a 392? I dont even have a block yet. My plans are to drop the engine in my cuda and eventually go EFI.

Depending on bore size, a 4.00" stroker in a 5.7 will get you about 386 cu in.

The magic stroke number is 4.05. With a .30 overbore and the 4.05 stroke in a 370 cu in 6.1 you get 426 cu in. If you are going to make a stroker crank you might as well make is swing that teeny bit further.

With the 4.05" crank AND the 4.15" bore Darton sleeves you'll get 438 cubes.....from the 6.1L. Small block heaven!!
