Any forced induction Hemi Problems?
The real question is any forced induction hemi problems due to the 5.7s plastic intake manifold? I am running 5psi boost on my setup and have already blown an intake manifold BUT my dodge dealership replaced it under warranty (you heard it right, turbo still mounted) stating that they only did it cause early production hemi's had a problem with this regardless of boosting (problem is only in early 2003 as far as I understand). So, now I got the updated model, but I am wondering if I am going to look at another blown plastic intake when I start running 8+psi (Turbo XS dual boost controller). Thanx for your responces guys.

One of my STS buddies up north had an intake blow. His truck was flaky before he put the turbo on and then after it just got worse. Apparently he had a cracked intake that the turbo finished off.
That's the only intake issue I've heard of. I run 8psi in high boost and have for almost a year. My other f/i friends have been doing the same w/o issue. Not that YOURS will be fine, but the intake issue hasn't shown its head much.

Gotta be careful with the 6.1 heads and f/i. Those heads are about 10cc less chamber size so you'll end up with about .8 or .9 more compression. Good for n/a, but not the right direction for f/i when you're already at about 10:1.

Your right, better change pistons. 8.2 to 1 forged.

I take it he was running a GSM kit as well. That's a pretty common failure with using an auxillary fuel injector setup on a dry intake. On cars with the front mounted throttle body, the #1 or #2 cylinders are the leanest and ussually fail. On trucks with the rear mounted throttle body, it's the #7 or #8 cylinder that goes. Did he get his RT back up and running yet?

Tell him to use the SMT6 with 8 larger injectors. I'm currently running two 58b deadhead fuel pumps with 8, 55lb injectors and 2, 48lb auxillary injectors to keep up with my fuel demands. I also pitched out the dry flow intake and went with the 5.7 MP crate intake as well. W/M is also a must. Don't let him blow another motor with his intake.
