I haven't found anything on that number either,
but if it's any help, the engine has a 331-354
'"Dodge heavy truck'/Chrysler industrial" style intake,
front cover and water pump, but Chrysler passenger
car valve covers. The "N" prefix usualy indicates a
Chrysler passenger car aplication...but the rest of
the numbers following the "N" don't seem to make
sense. Neither does the "CAL" stamp. Does the engine
appear to have been rebuilt at onetime? If so, perhaps
the "CAL" stamp could have been added sometime later,
maybe by a rebuilder, although most rebuild shops add
a riveted tag with their name and the new rebuilt bore.
If the engine has been rebuilt too, perhaps someone used
a passenger car core or shortblock to build a truck or
industrial engine by adding the truck/industrial intake,
front cover, waterpump and possibly heads. The casting
numbers from the heads would help in I.D'ing your engine
if you can post them.
