I have a set of NOS L2091F TRW .030 forged pistons sitting on the shelve for this very reason. :D These are for a HD truck application, and are a higher compression than the car pistons. :o They have a thick top, and cutting a bevel on the outside edge and valve notches are no problem. When you have...

Have I seen any of these blocks break apart? No. What I am saying is that 1: if you read the side bar in the Hot Rod article titled 712 HP time bomb , it tells what the Chrysler engineers have to say about anything over the 500 HP level. I am sure if the guys at MP thought they had a 1000 hp capable...

Its nice to see all the horsepower numbers people want to reach with these 5.7/6.1/6.4 .... 800...900...1000 with turbos, etc. The fact is that these blocks are not going to take it, and there are going to be a whole lot of people picking up pieces of block and crank off the highway. Yes, they are n...

Sure Pete...I could use a 6.1 crank. What's the info? Since there are none in any warehouse or parts depot, and none shown in any inventory, with no release date, having an in-service date of 2050 (yes, 2050) and only available someday maybe if ordered thru the Star Center. Give us all the details. ...

Girdles, continued
The Dodge piece looks great. It wont be long now.
As for the Desoto, I have received 0 interest, so it looks like this one may wait.
Also, all kits are available with ARP bolts or studs. The best fasteners for the best (and only) early hemi main cap girdles.

This is sort of on topic..... who are the shops that you guys have had doing your crankshaft work? And are they equipped to weld, index, and offset grind? Thanks.
If you would rather not list shop names, please PM me or email twaters@together.net

So to answer the original question, I would say ( my opinion) its a question of how much money you want to spend for some peace of mind. And to clear one thing up..a girdle such as the one that I manufacture will increase rigidity of the bottom end, not clamping force of the main caps. It does not r...

There are a few options..... and even more opinions  For a street (non 1200 hp  )motor, stock caps will be fine. But.......... Remember that anything other than using the stock caps with bolts is going to require at the minimum an align hone. Using studs will require an align hone. Using...
