Re: Cam Your Ram: Part 2
Well, they had my attention in Part 1 but part 2 turned into a total rebuild with a stroker kit? So much for a 'Camming' your Hemi article! I wish someone would do an article on the gains from swapping a 6.1 Hemi SRT cam into a 5.7 Hemi. I would be real interested in seeing what kind of gains that w...

Re: 354 bore limit
A lot of folks have bored 354's to 4.0 and used stock sized 392 pistons. The only sure way to know how much you can bore a particular block is to have it sonic checked though.

Re: Sodium Filled Exhaust Valves...
"2"- If the stems, valve faces, margins, and guides are in good shape, use them. Buddy I did that with my 392, but they weren't sodium filled valves. Started it up one day in the shop and now I have a piston on the shelf in my den with a pretty good sized hole in it! I will never ever use...

Re: Distributor.
Rob, it may not be 'old school' but the most economical ignition setup I've found (and reliable too) is an electronic distributor from an LA engine and the Hot Heads adapter for it. The adapter is $16 and you can get the distributor and wiring harness plug from a salvage yard and you can find the ig...

Re: Stupid Lifter Question...
Not sure what you mean by 'big' Mopar lifters, but as far as the hydraulic lifters go there is a difference between the early hemi lifters and all the later B,RB and LA engine lifters. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the difference is in the location of the recessed area...

I have to agree with you guys. I might have a newfangled 5.7 Hemi under the hood of my Cuda, but the exhaust is still oldschool! When my son drives the car I can tell it's my car coming from a block away while sitting inside my house! :lol: I have a Panasonic AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo in the car and darne...

Your best bet would be to check with the guys at Street & Performance, they are the ones who did the first swaps using factory harnesses and ECMs. Here's a link;
