Both Bob at Hot Heads and Roger at Wilcap offer trans adapters for the extended blocks. I would recommend either. Both are great guys to deal with.

Dont feel alone....many have dreamed of a 2x4 cross ram for early hemis. The only production pieces I have seen are the early Weiand 6 x 2 crossram, or (as an add on) the Offenhauser bolt on adapters. Some guy did come up with this one tho. :o Vic Jr. said he doesnt remember his dad ever making one....

The 1619829 block was used for both car and truck/industrial applications. The front face was machined differently for either the car type front cover and waterpump, or the truck cast iron type cover and pump.

The 236 is the engine type . When the engines were modified for various adaptations, with a particular combination of accessories, it was designated by a seperate model and type number. The type number was used to identify the motor if parts were needed. Different types included those used in farm e...

Sorry Pete, But I only supply the o.e.m. steel type Dorman plugs. The Chrysler engineers used steel plugs...... correct? Why change what has worked for 50+ years. ( I read that somewhere). I am sure any of the above mentioned parts stores can help our readers out with a cross reference from Pioneer ...

Great idea Pete. And as an added service to our readers, as the senior member of the Never Picked Up Sales Team, maybe you could list where to get those $1.00 shaft collars? That would even save ME some money.

Someone may finally produce an aftermarket intake for the Desotos, but I am afraid it will be little more than a stock type base with a place to bolt on a 4bbl. True, better than nothing, but I am quite sure that not much r&d or flow work will be done during the design. This is the reason that n...

I dont believe that I read where anyone claimed that all blocks had all 8 cylinder walls .375 thick top to bottom, in full circumference. We all know that would only happen with a billet type block with independent sleeves. So I would suggest that we all move on from here, instead of trying to get t...

It sounds like the previous owner did exactly as you were going to do. He took what he felt were the good parts (pistons?, heads, and 4bbl intake) and sold the rest. I watched this auction. The included 2bbl intake as well as what appeared to be small valves in the heads(as well as the block being pa...

They are located in the same place. Just remember to allow for the added deck height when mocking up.
Also, the lugs on the plastic block will need to be trimmed, as they are cast thicker than a real steel block.

We all know the old saying about opinions :o

Mr Ripley is correct in one aspect. One thing holds true. If you dont do your homework, you really have no one to blame but yourself if something goes wrong.

2.2 journals

If there is any doubt, go to the Moparts board (if you can  ) and ask how many Mopar guys use 2.2 rod journals. It is common practice, and you can get any length I or H beam rod, from any company with a 2.2 journal. And trust me, an after market Crower or Carrillo rod is MUCH stronger than any ...

The problem is with the notches in the pistons. The polys are notched differently than the hemi. Since there are no 259 hemis, you will have to have the notches enlarged by a machine shop to be sure the valves will clear, or bore for 270 pistons.
