If you have a 1736183 thats 5/8" thick, then it sounds like someone has had it in a milling machine. These plate were used in 57 and 58 applications, are are approximately 1.125" thick.
The 1731703 intake was used in 57-58 also, 354 and 392

The 1619829 block was machined in two different formats on the front face. One for car usage, the other for truck use. The block machined for cars would use a stamped steel front cover, while the truck blocks used a cast steel cover. The water outlet holes on the truck are approx 7"apart on cen...

Email me for details or take the link to my page. I am currently waiting for a run to get back from the shop. I expect a week or so. Thanks. Tom My advice when purchasing an adapter is to compare those that are available. My adapter is the only billet adapter (the others mentioned are CAST aluminum)...

While Mr. Ripley may be correct when ordering a set of custom made forged pistons, I highly doubt that the manufacturer of cast pistons that retail for under $200 (with rings) is going to make the adjustments in machining(dome OR pin location) for a .2 or .3 difference in compression. That is why th...

Also keep in mind that the final ratio will vary based on the bore being 4.0, 4.030, or 4.060. I would be interested in seeing the weight of the pistons.

That seller lists all his parts as 392, as many do on ebay. The part in question is from a 331 or 354 truck motor using the cast iron timing cover and front mount.

Why dont you just give it up Pete? or is it udidit4..or oldhemidude. You tried this on Moparts, and it didnt work. It wont here either. For one, the part numbers you are giving, located in 8-36-14 are the spring steel wire guides which fit over the wire cover stands. You have the part numbers correc...

If you increase the crank stroke by .250, the piston will be raised .125 going up. The other .125 of the stroke will be on the down travel. I think you would be just as well off if you were to offset grind the 354 crank journals , and use a custom bbc rod with sbc crank pin diameter. If you were to ...

I dont feel that much time has been wasted  , but I will tell you this. No matter what your books say, and no matter what the WPC says, the only way to know exactly what you have is to have it torn down, (which is indeed what you stated you will eventually do), and get the casting numbers from...
