Great info and glad to get it.So I guess the smart move would be to keep it under 500 lift for practical purposes($$$).To me the valve train looks like a good solid piece for stock but some what iffy for performance. OK ,I was hanging around to see if you would catch that.I still don't get the reasoning behind the wimpy lift.I see the numbers at mostly 450-480 which I'm sure is at the valve and that's just not much.Even if max flow is as low as 500 lift if you can exceed that you increase the dwell time at full ...

I thought the true Marine crank did not have a step for a chain driven timing gear and since it uses a 2 gear ,gear drive it must rotate backwards using a reverse rotation cam.That would be a Marine engine used in something like an old shrimp boat or something.The Ho...

Why do early Hemi performance cams have such small lift?

I'm looking at flow charts and I see flow increasing all the way to 600 lift on stock heads but most cams seem to have way under 500 lift.

Welding the block

Normally I wouldn't ask this and just throw it away but since it's not a 350 Chevy I'd like to get an external crack about 6 in. long welded.Anybody had any luck doing this?My main concern is that it's probably been cracked(from freezing) for 20 or so years and I wonder if the rust could sort of wic...
