Build up question.

Got a chance to buy a 49 Ford coupe. It has no motor or tranny. Been toyin' with idea of dropping a blown 392 Hemi in it. Now that would be a real screamer. An it would sure give those T-Bird and Chevy guys somethin' ta think about. What do you guys think? Just curious. Is it a good idea? :o

Was just wondering if anyone knew why the DTW site is down? I haven't been able to get in there for a couple of days. Thanks in advance for any info.

South State Speed over in New Jersey has a blown street motor (471 Hemi) for $19,900. If it was me I'd pay the extra peso's and get the blower motor. You can check it out at, www.southstatespeed.com

That's good advice for just about anything you're gonna buy that is sight unseen. It's the old addage about, "an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure."

Well there are a few things you can do to help your fuel economy. But if you're a hot rodder than what I suggest won't be of much value. But I'll give it to you anyway. It's just common sense stuff. First off drive like there's an egg under the gas pedal. Instead of punching it, bring it up to speed...

Well Dodgeman66, I wish you the best, in what ever you decide to do. I hope that Mopar sends you a new motor that doesn't need a thing and that it's a strong performer. Keep us posted.

I think that after all the aggrevation this motor has caused you, that I would very seriously consider asking for a refund. You could wind up playing musical motors. How do you know that the next one won't be a clunker??? You might check out some of the custom engine builders and see what offerings ...

Frankly, if I paid 10 grand for a new motor, that didn't work properly and didn't get any satisfaction, I would contact my lawyer and have him send a letter to mopar asking them to make things right. I would also send a copy to whom ever you bought the motor from. If that didn't work then I'd sick t...
