Re: Is anyone familiar with this intake ?

Isn't this what is commonly referred to as the "VANKE" manifold? Yes that is the Vanke mod, named after Arlen Vanke, one of the factory sponsored drag racers, who was the first to modify the intake. I don't think there is any way to determine it's origin as it was a pretty common mod back...

If you are talking about installed in production cars then I have an article from a 1980 Popular Hot Rodding magazine that states 8921 were built. Information in the Mopar Performance Chassis manual 9th edition published in 2000 by Chrysler Corporation shows 9184 street hemi cars shipped between 196...

I have seen a few on ebay. As far as I know no one is reproducing this air cleaner. Prices are usually high. There are fiberglass repo's out there but I personally didn't like the quality of them.

Kouros, this board is not very active. The reason you haven't received many replies is probably because no one has the answer to your questions. Does the crate motor have a sticker on the lower portion of the block with a part number?

Real common problem on the 426 style hemi. Your RTV idea is one I have heard before and some recommend Cometic gaskets.

I would go with a specific builder such as: www.forhemisonly.com or www.bestmachineracing.com

I haven't heard of anyone who is happy with their crate motor from Mopar.

Sorry, I don't know of any websites that have the information you are requesting. I would search for hemicuda on one of the search engines such as google and see what you find.

Well I don't remember what the stock rocker ratio is. The carbs are 625 cfm for a total of 1250 cfm on a stock street hemi.

I was lucky enough to drive a 2005 SRT-10 commemorative edition, regular cab, 6spd, that my son's friend just bought. It was fun and I wanted one, I have a 2005 Dodge Quad Cab 4x4, Cummins, that I use to tow my trailer with the Hemi Challenger inside. I am having a hard time thinking about the new V...

Depends on how much you want to spend. The prices on E-bodies are outrageous right now. There are lot's advertised for sale due to the high market value. I like the E-bodies but would probably go with the classic lines of a 69 Charger for a cruiser.

The 2780559 is the standard street hemi head. The CWC is the foundry I believe it is Campbell-Wyatt-Campbell the 1 and 2 might be the shift or the mold number. The C.9.6 and B.24.6 I believe are the date codes. Not entirely sure on this but I wanted to put some other info on here for you.

Is the cam stock? If not you will need to find out who the cam manufacturer is and get the specs from them on setting the lash. Crane cams has a page on adjusting valve lash that is very good. Here is a link to the page. http://www.cranecams.com/?show=techarticle&id=2&PHPSESSID=1a99c577c6e1e...
