5w30 oil is the correct oil for the 5.7 engine. I would recommend you stay with it through the warranty period. After that, you might jack it up a bit for warmer climates, or hotter running situations. In my mind better to change more often than push the oil. As far as changing the oil when new, I w...

Tell me about the noise you hear. I have a fair amount of experience with the 5.7 engine noise. Is it a cold tap that only lasts a few seconds, or is it a hot tap that only comes when the engine is really warm, and at the lowest idle? I am only getting about 11 mpg. Odo currently at 400. Hoping this will go up. Is 87 octane good enough or should I consider running 89 or 91.
