Re: 354 stroker
Any of the top piston manufacturers will be able to help you with pistons. Arias, Ross,Venolia.
They will need to know the specifics about your build. Stroke. Deck Height. Rod length. Combustion chamber volume. Head gasket thickness. Desired compression ratio. Ring pack. Pin diameter.

We lost a friend
I am sad to say that I lost my friend Dan Miller on Tuesday, due to an apparent heart attack. Danny often posted in the section. He was a wealth of early hemi knowledge, and will be missed dearly. RIP Danny.

Re: trans spacers
Thank you for the kind words. The early (59 60 61 62) sb trans will bolt on, as those motors also had the extended crankshaft. The problem is ( to the best of my knowledge) that there are no 8 bolt torque converters. You will save money in the long run buy using an adapter ( be it one of mine, Hot H...

Re: 354 lifter angle/deck height
The 354 has a lifter angle of 61.5*.....vs 59* for the 392.
The most common deck height number seen for a 354 is 10.320 inches. Yours may vary.

With an offset grind to 2.2 journal, you will have a radius on the lower half of the journal and rolled left on the top. Unless you decide not to take the full offset. For your application, its not going to hurt anything to have half and half.

Re: Tom Waters Girdle
With cap walk, metal is actually transfered from one surface (the block) to another surface (the cap). Once it transfers, the cap will not seat correctly, and it only gets worse. The block surface will look roughly pitted and the cap surface will be built up with little patches of "welded"...

An extended bell is definitely not easier (or less expensive) to adapt a standard shift to.

Re: PAW Tunnel Ram manifold?
In my opinion, they are a bit small as-cast for serious H.P. These pictures show the as-cast ports under a Mr.Gasket (or BEST Gasket) "Large Port" intake gasket. There is no way to open the runners up without welding or epoxy. http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq352/TR_Waters/HPIM2816_640...

Re: PAW Tunnel Ram manifold?
With this type of intake, you will see that the port size is compromised..... due to the original bolt hole location. Note the indentations in the AIU runners for bolt clearance. That extends into the port itself, limiting porting. If you look close at my intake, you will see there are still 4 bolts...

As Peter was mentioning, if you have a Dodge cam with a threaded front snout, it is NOT for a 315 or 325 tall deck.

As far as gear drives are concerned, you get what you pay for. Take the time to compare the Milodon gear drive to those Chinese knockoffs  , and you will see what I mean. As Danny said, a good chain and gear set will work well for almost all applications. I also have modified a LA Magnum chain...

New Service for Old Heads
I have just completed my new cnc program for the resurfacing of the Chrysler early hemi combustion chambers. Those old heads that have been sitting in the weeds behind the shed, or those 555 heads on that engine that sat upside down for the last few decades can now be cleaned up and used once again....

Some rockers differ in appearance due to whomever did the castings. I believe these were one of many parts that Chrysler sourced out. 331 354 and 392 rocker arms will all physically interchange, even though some may look different than others.
