Hemi's underway

Heaven on Earth has to be riding in Chrysler's and CC's best, mid-50's vintage.
3 55's sealed and delivered sounds like a great deal. Can't wait. Can't believe it!!

Marine Hemi fuel consumption

I've read that 0.50 lbs/horsepower/hour is typical for a Hemi (The Complete Chrysler Hemi Engine Manual??). I've read that 0.55-0.60 is typical for internal combustion engines in general (Airplane Design Manual by Frederick Teichmann). So does the Hemi design add efficiency in fuel burn? I use 80 ga...

Which Marine Hemi is it

Maybe a misprint , but looking at a CC Propeller Wheel Spec chart, in 1957 on a 38 foot Corsair an engine option was the 225 horsepower Chrysler, which means 354 cube, 2x1 barrels. In the same year on a 38 foot Fisherman, an option was either the 250 horsepower Chrysler, or the 275 horsepower Chrys...

Marine Hemi part number difference/rotation info

Generator and starter for left and right engines are different part numbers. Probably no surprise, but the distributors rotate in the same direction in left and right engines. Marine Block Serial Number

Looked at 2 different M45 S engines (a left and right) and didn't find any number on the narrow flat area ahead of the valley cover between the heads (opposite the dist end of engine). According to Chrysler Service/Maintenance Manual I'm reading for M45 S Chrysler Imperial Marine Engine (331 w/2-1 barrels), the distributors for both Right (normal) and Left (opposite rotation) engines rotate in the same direction (clockwise looking down at dist) but the firing orders are different....
