Re: blower manifold

The reason for building the tunnel ram was that the engine was going in a V-Drive flat bottom boat. With out a blower, Hemis are kind of lazy on the bottom end so we wanted to get more torque in the bottom to mid range rpm and at the time, tunnel rams on Big block chevys were very popular in boats. ...

Re: blower manifold

Any manifold will fit providing the heads are correct for the block. When using '55 and '56 354 ci heads on a 392, spacers will be needed between the heads and the manifold. Gragar used to make these. 392 heads on a 354 block will present a problem when trying to fit a manifold. Weiand manifold part...

Re: 392 hemi vs 426 hemi

An advantage that the 426 had over the 392 especially in top fuel engines was that you could put more advance in the mag. Anything over 24 degrees in a '92 was very precarious resulting in cracked blocks.

Re: 315 Block and oil pan

Thankyou John for your reply. Let me save you the trouble. On checking out the pictures of a previous post, I can see that the dip stick is located in the timing case cover.

315 Block and oil pan

I just came across a 315 std bore block and oil pan the other day with the numbers L8D3-4363. I am not sure if the oil pan is the right one for this block because it has a notch (bump) on the side for what I suspect is for the dip stick however I cannot find any provisions on the block for a dip sti...
