Re: 5,7 Hemi MSD 6hemi controller problem

We've been dyno testing a few of our engines finally. We broke down and bought an AEM standalone for the dyno sessions. 21 degrees of timing is where we seen the most tq and hp. We tried everthing from 18 to 27 and at 27*'s we heard a slight tickle so we started backing off the timing. Egt's on all ...

The wiring is going to be a headache, if even possible, with the drive by wire throttle body and the fully electronic controlled 722.6 trasmission. If I were you, I'd opt for a 727 behind the 5.7. Then get yourself a cable controlled throttle body, wiring harness and PCM from Mopar Performance. That...

I hear ya. If and when we get the car, you know that the engine will be pulled for a, "I gotta see what Ray Barton did to it" look. I'm sure that Chuck Lofgren, Knowton/Mondello and a few others will stop by the shop for a peek see.

Even though Ray Barton is to build the motors, I'd like to see an "engine delete" option. If you know what I mean.

Jerry..... did you try the XV with the spacers? I have a full block girdle in the works. Should be soon. And hard chromed rocker shafts due in any day. Tom A full block girdle in the works? I'll take 2 for sure, maybe 3. I take it the stock windage tray will be mounted below the girdle.

Tom, No I didn't. I was surprised with the flow results of the XV intake after looking at it. Anyone with the MP intake should get your spacers to increase low end torque for sure.

I just purchased a XV, FI 5.7 intake. I sent it off to Knowlton's for testing. This intake kick's butt compaired to the 5,7 Mopar Performance crate intake. 97.5% efficient right out of the box. To make the 5.7 crate intake that efficient, I had to add the TWaters intake spacers and modify the floor ...

Scott, I figured you'd get a kick out of that one. The truck was in full street trim with the exception of 4 drag radials. One on each corner...The temp that day was 96 degree's and the air was 2880 ft. I'm hoping to get it into the 11's next month once cold air gets here.

Re: adding tach with 5.7 carb crate motor

I have a 67 Barracuda with the carb crate hemi and want to add a tach. I found a Mopar Perf tach adapter but can't find instructions for it. Seems like what I've found so far requires re-wiring one entire bank of coils (AutoMeter and MSD). Anyone got a better solution? Are you running with the stoc...

According to the article in the June 2007 Hot Rod magazine where they swapped a 5.7 into an A body, the 426 hemi flexplate will work also. I haven't confirmed this myself, so it would be best to check it out before going that route. I have a spare 426 hemi flexplate packed away in storage and when ...

With the geometry of the stock rockers, your pretty much limited to a .575" lift. I have seen a .600" lift cam do some serious head damage ie broken valve springs and where the rockers hit the retainers.

I'd double check all your ground straps and make sure they're tight. I'd start with the PCM ground and go from there. The one that connects the heads together on the backside, is a pain to get to.

Intake spacers, rockershaft collars and new cam are next.

Thanks to TrWaters, a sponser here on this site, his upgraded rockershaft collars came in along with his intake spacers. The rockershaft collars replace the cheap spring steel OEM's and I will be experimenting using his intake spacers to help out the poorly designed crate MPI intake. I'll be off to ...
