Just get your PCM reflashed by B&G Chrysler and tell them to up or remove the speed and rev limiters along with shift points.

You can install non mds lifters or reflash the pcm or both. The dealer sells the non mds lifters in a package with four lifters.

1. Yes, same external dimensions
2. Yes, I have a 6.1 with the front cover and accessories from the 5.7
3. 5.7 & 6.1 have cheap hypereutectic pistons(I would get forged ones)
4. 5.7 crank is cast
5. 6.1 crank is forged(both same dimensions)

I would love to see a n/a high cr 6.1 in a Cuda.

That would be $1700 for a forged crank. Billet cranks can also be made but they are like $2700.

Re: 6.8 Hemi

GS Motorsports is now producing a stroked, re-sleeved 426 hemi from the 6.1 block (and supercharged with their big boost NOVI 1500 of course).. Dynoed at 740hp, 665rwhp). I know, I got the first one... in my '06 SRT8 Charger. There is not enough open road here in Rhode Island to test it's potential...

hemidup, I just got off the phone with a gentleman who has a '70 Cuda and he wanted to put a 6.1 with a turbo to make 1000hp. He was told it could not be done with the 6.1 block so he is selling it to go to a Nascar type block. I told him I thought it could be possible but that it had not been prove...

You don't have to imagine, lol. I bought a 6.1(370 ci) and had it stroked to a 6.8(413 ci) with a 8.5:1 cr and will be upgrading my turbo from the 60-1 to the GTS 76. What kind of torque numbers you looking to get? How fast are you planning on turning th engine? I can also probably scout you up a c...

The 426/440 can be made with either the 5.7 or 6.1 blocks and will be using a new 4" forged crank or a billet 4" as an upgrade.

The 6.8L will be going into a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with a STS turbo kit. The engine is a stroked 6.1L with a forged 3.97" crank, Manley rods, and Ross pistons with a 4.075" bore and 8.5 cr. I was one of the first to stroke the 6.1L but now the flood gates have opened up and parts are being ...

Try the link below as they have a controller that works with the 5-45RFE. I am assuming of course that you will be using a stand alone engine computer also. A buddy has one on his 5.7 Hemi truck.

There are injectors, turbos, superchargers, rods, cranks, pistons and many other parts available for the 5.7 & 6.1 Hemi's. I am currently building a 6.1 375ci into a 413ci with forged internalls to handle 15-18lbs of boost and a small shot of nitrous. Before the build I had a STS turbo with 8 la...
