Re: 392 Hemi conversion
B and E bodies need the center sump pan and you will likely need to notch the rear lip of the K-frame. Stock steering box clears. The block is quite similar to the LA block so you can trial fit the install with LA engine brackets and adjust from there. Way back in the 80's we did many of similar swa...

Re: Bear Block Motors’ 392 Hemi Block
These typrs of projects are HUGELY expensive and there is never a guarantee of capturing even the initial investment let alone actually making a margin. Some projects can drag on for years (I have several that way) being attended to as time/money permits.

Re: Adjustable push rods
Most cam/lifter manufacturers will suggest 0.040" to 0.060" preload on the hydraulic lifter. With the lifter sitting on the base circle (heel, back side, whatever) open/extend the pushrod until all slack is gone but the puck has not yet moved. Now, open an additional 1 2/3 turns (at 32tpi ...

Re: 331 Cylinder thickness
Maybe I'm just old and thick headed, but why does anyone want to make giant bore cuts on these engines? You can easily exceed the perceived gains in power simply by using forged pistons at 10:1 compression. The standard bore 354 castings that are on the market may or may not actually make the 9:1 as...

Re: 354 bore limit
Swept volume determines the compression ratio. A longer stroke has more swept volume. Assuming that the combustion chamber cc is constant, then it goes kinda like this: A 354 has a swept volume of approximate 44.8 cubic inch or 734 cc. This is the volume of the cylinder. Imagine that you will squeez...

Re: Stroker 392 Crankshafts
If you have deep pockets and really really want a big crank then check out Winberg Crankshafts. There are still a number of custom shops doing welded strokers but most will be in the $2500 range. Sadly, the shop that I used decades ago has long been closed...go figure....

I can't offer any help with the A230...but the spacer ring has been used successfully for years and will not "fall out" if properly machined/installed; check your existing bearing retainer for concentricity and if needed turn down your existing bearing retainer od as needed to make it 'rou...

Re: Transmission SUCCESS.....
There are only a couple of opportunities to use a late trans and early bell, yours being one of them. In many applications the truck bell is just too big. In other swaps, like a 5-speed, nothing matches. T-5? input shaft is too short for the truck bell. AX15? stock bell is not used but a block adapt...

Re: Piston ID Help.
Jahns often put their name on the inside, so if it is bare then look for a number of some kind. It is obviously higher than 8.5 since they were flat-tops. If they will fit in your bore as you had wanted then hook up a rod and crank and check the down fill volume to determine dome volume. Easier to m...

Re: Head gaskets?
There are three distinct head gaskets for the 331-354 and 392, and not based on displacement. If you take the time to actually look at the photos in the HAMB link you can see that there are physical differences with regards to the location of coolant passage holes as well as the dowel pin diameter. ...

FWIW, my adapter also uses the oem inspection cover as well as any post 67 type starter.
We also can provide forged pistons and will be very competative on price.
Send a note if you have questions. hemi.parts@yahoo.com

Yup, typical military designed for wet operations. Be sure to keep the drive shaft with the dizzy as it is 'special'.
Note here, some of the units are 12 volt and others are 24 volt.

An EarlyHemi will be as reliable as the quality of the rebuild. No, rebuilds are not cheap, budget for about $5k and be selective about the shop you employ. If they are a predominately GM or Ford operation you may not get the attention to detail as you would from a Mopar shop. This is especially tru...

Your '53 had solid lifters!!?? with adjustable rockers or adjustable pushrods? Very unusual. Your 53 parts will fit on a 54 block, no problems. Use the hyd lifters. Caution here...verify the size of the pushrod tip vs lifter. Your hydraulic lifters will have a 0.125" radius seat. What do you pl...
