400 HP 241 Hemi - - Say What ! ? !

Mudboy I hope you have a lot of "Gold" in the Bank. The less expensive way to go is supercharging, with a Enderly Fuel Injection system. A high psi output Turbo is Real Spendy. But that too can be debated. Next spendy trick is you will have to get forged Dome Pistons & a good set of Ro...

You said the magic Word-- "HEAT" First-- get a can of rust buster, nut & bolt lossener, rust penetrant. Brand names of ones you can buy, they all work, I know from experience. Stand rocker shaft on end, using a propane plumbers torch, or a small tip on welding torch. Wand it back &...

From your question I'm guessing you are not a "car" mechanic. Working from the floor, you need to get the vehicle up on stands for some clearance, & safety so it can't fall on you. Assuming that you know what to do to get the transmission out, your bell housing is probably open on the ...

Re: 392 dual spark plugs

question, is there a reason why 392's cant have dual plugs? has anyone tried it? Also, what would aluminum rods with these specs do for a 392 (specs, big end 2.500, pin is 1.100 ,center to center is 7.150, i believe these are longer than standard)? Is it true that the A-1 392 hemi has extra meat to ...

Hey your info on the 412SD /Pontiac was correct. I was way off on the year model, (not a Pontiac Guy), I called my Ace Pontiac ex-Pontiac mechanic Friend in Florida, he worked on one or two of them up in Ohio. He read me some more little known info off his "Stuff". That was a 63 Catalina, ...

Electric Water Pump

You don't even want an electric water pump for a daily driver. The added electical load on your alternator also robs power from the motor. Remove your fan & put a heavy duty electric fan on the radiator. When cruising down the road, the elec. fan should not even come on. But you will need to ins...

Synthectic Gear Oil

You drain all the the gear oil. Go to auto parts store & buy it, there is two grades, nine bucks & change a qt, & other is about 2.5 to 3 times higher, which is what the racers use. I use the nine bucks plus in my rigs. If you go on internet yahoo search, type in synthectic oil, you will...

OH OH I miss read your question. Yes you can safely tow "Rigs" with it. That 241 don't have enough beans in the can to hurt that tranny. The original stock cam was the perfect one. I broke out my 54 to 63 Chiltons Auto manual. The 241 put out 220 ft/lbs torque @ 2000 rpm. That's like an RV...

Hey; love all the different opinions & facts posted. That's how we learn. Yeh! The 440 is a good motor, recently overhauled 76 motor home I bought & put duals exhaust on it, she's stout. But it's 14 CI bigger than a 426 & won't match the 426 Hemi. Would love to have Bill Gates's money. W...

Re: 241 HEMI/3 SP 0/D

Any Stick Shift O/D Tranny can be safely towed as long as you lock out the O/D so the output shaft with the low/reverse sliding gear will rotate & pickup the gear oil.
